THE CASE OF LATE DIAGNOSIS OF WEGENER’S GRANULOMATOSIS

Summary. A case of late diagnosis of Wegener's granulomatosis in a 60 years old man is described. The disease made its debut with recurrent purulent rhinosinusitis, which was not seen at that time as systemic vasculitis. Correct diagnosis was established after 6 years from the disease onset after the process generalization with a lesions of the skin, mucous membranes, lungs, eyes, joints. With account of literature data and analysis of the presented case of late vital diagnostics of Wegener's granulamatosis the authors substantiate difficulties of this disease diagnostics. Due to systemic affection of small vessels, multiple organs are involved in the pathological process and this results in prolongation of diagnostics terms and administration of the required treatment, influencing on the disease prognosis.
