RISENDRONATE IN THE TREATMENT OF OSTEOPOROSIS: PHARMACOLOGICAL PROFILE, CLINICAL EFFICACY, TOLERABILITY AND SAFETY

Summary. Summary.In the presented article the results of studies of risendronate administration in the treatment of osteoporosis are summarized. Numerous clinical studies have demonstrated the risendronate effectiveness in reducing the risk of vertebral, non-vertebral and hip fractures. Ris-endronate is effective for postmenopausal and senile osteoporosis, osteoporosis in men and in glu-cocorticoid-induced osteoporosis. Effect of risen-dronate retained for 7 years with good tolerability and drug safety profile.
