PECULIARITIES OF CHRONIC PAIN IN JOINT INFLAMMATORY DISEASES AND PAIN CONTROL EFFICIENCY IN A CORRECTION WITH ANXIETY AND DEPRESSIVE DISORDERS

Summary. The purpose of the study — to determine the clinical course of chronic pain in patients with inflammatory diseases of the joints and the effectiveness of pain control, depending on the correction of anxiety and depressive disorders. A total of 172 patients with chronic pain caused by inflammation of the joints, pain intensity was determined using the VAS, the activity of the inflammatory process, X-ray stage of joint damage, the presence and severity of anxiety and depression scales of PHQ-9 and HARS-14 were measured. Results of the study revealed that the severity of pain does not always correspond to the degree of organic changes in the musculoskeletal system according to medical imaging, disease activity, but correlates with the duration of illness, the treatment, the frequency of anxiety and depressive disorders. Significant decrease in pain intensity among patients receiving treatment revealed aimed at correction of anxious-depressive syndrome, suggesting an additional modality in the management of patients with chronic pain caused by inflammation of the joints in the presence of anxiety and depressive disorders.
