Summary. Summary. The modern aspects of etiopathogenesis of gout are discussed in the article, the new approaches for the pathophysiological meaning of uric acid are highlighted, the latest clinical recommendations (EULAR, 2011) for the treatment of patients with gout and hyperurecemia are presented. There are also the latest data from the recent methods of pharmacotherapy of hyperurecemia are described.
