The influence of metabolic disorders on clinical manifestations of osteoarthritis and the method for predicting of its course

Summary. The purpose of the present study was to study the parameters of metabolic disorders and its influence on the X-ray changes and to develop the mathematical model of determine X-ray changes depending on components of the metabolic disorders. Materials and methods. 63 patients (14 men and 49 women), mean age was 58.0±0.82 years with osteoarthritis were examined. Results and discussion. The relationship between X-ray changes and carbohydrate, lipid metabolism, abdominal obesity, duration of type 2 diabetes mellitus was determined. Conclusions. The data obtained allow to develop the mathematical model of determin of X-ray changes depending on components of the metabolic disorders in patients with osteoarthritis.
