The investigation of efficacy of selective nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs in patients with osteoarthritis

Summary. Comparative description of mostly widespread drugs from the group of selective non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, in particular nimesulide and meloxicam is presented in the article. The data received have demonstrated advantages of nimesulide, namely fast clinical efficacy, anti-inflammatory action compare to meloxicam, reduce of nitric oxide level, which prove decrease of inflammation activity and cartilage degradation and also acceptable safety profile during 2 weeks of administration. This allow recommend it as a drug of choice in pain syndrome management.
