Summary. Summary. The work presents a unitary theory of the pathogenesis of atherosclerosis as a common stromal-vascular adipose dystrophy (lipidosis, cholesterolosis) complicated by extracellular deposition in the interstitial tissue of the internal membrane of the arteries of lipid foci with the prevailing cholesterol in them, and the development of chronic productive granulomatous inflammation — granulomatosis around these endogenous foreign bodies.
