Summary. In the article the author shows the relationship between the discoid meniscus and the anomalies of the structure of the epiphysis of the tibia. The described pathology refers to diseases caused by hereditary predisposition. Discoid meniscus performs compensatory-adaptive function in the knee joint. The discoid meniscus is a pair pathology. X-ray symptoms of «bevel», «chamfers», «terraces» make it possible to diagnose a discoid meniscus without performing MRI.
