VALIDATION AND CROSS-CULTURAL ADAPTATION OF THE UKRAINIAN LANGUAGE VERSION OF THE QUESTIONNAIRE DRI (THE DISABILITY RATING INDEX) — INDEX OF DISABILITY IN PATIENTS WITH RHEUMATOID ARTHRITISStanislavchuk M.A., Shalkovskyi E.I. Summary. Topicality. Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a chronic, destructive, immune-mediated inflammatory joint disease that has a progressive course and causes disability in almost 50% of patients during the first 5 years of the disease. Since RA has a significant impact on patients’ health, covering both the physical and mental spheres, it is important to develop tools for objective and unified assessment of patients’ physical functions. The aim of the study. To translate, validate and cross-culturally adapt the Ukrainian version of the DRI questionnaire in patients with RA, and compare it with the HAQ-DI questionnaire. Object and research methods. The translation and cross-cultural adaptation of the DRI questionnaire was carried out in accordance with the recommendations of the Guidelines for the process of cross-cultural adaptation of self-report measures. 51 patients with RA and 30 people of the control group were examined. The groups of patients and individuals of the control group were representative in terms of age and sex, formed taking into account the gender characteristics of RA and prevalence in the population. The statistical processing of the obtained results was carried out using the methods of variational statistics in the SPSS23 software package (©SPSS Inc.). The results. The DRI questionnaire was translated and cross-culturally adapted and validated. It was found that the internal consistency of the questionnaire is high and confirmed by the appropriate value of the Cronbach’s alpha coefficient. According to the results of the calculations of the intraclass correlation coefficient, which was 0.999 (р<0.01), its high reproducibility and close correlation with the HAQ-DI. Conclusion. The Ukrainian-language version of the DRI questionnaire has a sufficient level of reliability and internal consistency, which allows it to be used for scientific purposes and in clinical practice in the Ukrainian-speaking population of RA patients as an alternative to the HAQ-DI.
