EVALUATION of salivation is a noninvasive screening method of esophageal complications in patients with rheumatoid arthritisSummary. Summary. Violation of salivation in patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) are described in the article. The study was examined 149 patients with RA, 99 of whom had esophageal complications. Our study indicates the presence of hyposalivation in these patients. Patients with RA and esophageal complications are more pronounced hyposalivation. Expressivity salivation — dependent pathological conditions in patients with RA and esophageal complications more significant than in uncomplicated RA. Intensity of hyposalivation also greater in patients with RA complicated by erosive esophagitis compared with patients with RA and non-erosive esophageal pathology. Determination of salivary flow rate can be used as a noninvasive screening method of esophageal complications in patients with RA. Diagnostic criteria for esophageal lesions in these patients were offered. No Comments » Add your |
